Last Chance Farm

Chance is a truly spectacular individual with the awesome personality of both his parents. He displays the characteristics of the true Tennessee Walking Horse and so I feel he was the perfect stallion to take his place as our herd sire beginning in 2004. He stands just over 15.1 hands as a 3 year old and will probably mature close to 15.3 hands. He has already had some basic training and he lounges, line drives, clips, loads, bathes and parks. He will be started under saddle during the breeding season and then placed in formal training after the breeding season to be started to a driving cart and for trail riding. He has a lot of style and presence to go with the laid back personality and a beautiful loose running walk.

Chance was tested by U. C. Davis to verify he is a cremello and that he has one agouti gene (Aa) (restricts the black to the points) which means he can sire both buckskins and palominos from black mares. From bay mares he can sire mostly buckskin foals and a few palomino foals. From chestnut and sorrel mares he will sire 100% palomino foals. From palomino mares he will sire 50-50 palomino or cremello. When bred to buckskin mares he will sire buckskin, palomino, perlino or cremello. From cremello mares he will sire 100% cremello foals. His 2005 foal crop was 2 buckskins (1 filly & 1 colt), 1 cremello colt and 3 palominos (2 colts & 1 filly). His 2006 foal crop was 2 buckskins (1 colt & 1 filly), 2 cremello fillies and 2 palominos (1 colt & 1 filly). His 2007 foal crop was 2 cremello colts, 1 palomino filly and 1 buckskin filly.

Another plus for this awesome young stallion is that he has the blood type that makes him compatible with any mare he is bred to regardless of her blood type and will never sire a foal with Neonatal isoerythrolysis (NI) which is an immunogenic disease that affects foals at birth.

Breeding Information

Chance has had three successful breeding seasons and will have 5 foals due in 2008. We have also bred some AQHA mares and Appaloosa mares for 2008 foals. He puts that head nodding running walk on his part bred foals. Chance will be available to a limited number of outside mares in 2008 so book your mares early.

All fees and mare care are due prior to mare leaving the breeding facility whichever is first. We offer shipped semen in 2008.

Your mares must have the following before entering the property:

Current Negative Coggins (not more than 12 months old)
Shots (VEWT, Strangles, Rhino, Rabies)
Tube Wormed within past sixty (60) days.
All mares should be examined before breeding to assure that they are clear of infection, have no internal abnormalities and are good candidates for breeding.
Everyone is required to sign a Breeding Contract before breeding which explains the terms and conditions of the LFG (live foal guarantee) and other particulars.
