Smoky Cream Stallion Review

In this review I will feature some of the smoky cream stallions that I have knowledge of and feel are great representatives of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breed.

X-Ray Eyes

TWHBEA #  986056 Sire:  Bud England
Height:  15.2 Hands Dam:  Velvet's Wishes Come True
Genotype: [Ee aa CrCr]

He is registered as a cremello but I am sure he is a smoky cream.  I believe he is a smoky cream because his dam is a smoky black and would not have had an agouti gene to contribute.  His sire was a palomino so I don't know if he even had an agouti gene. His color is significantly different than any perlino, so there is no proof, but my choice is smoky cream.  He has never produced a buckskin out of a black mare.  He is really put together nice and gaits beautifully, and the picture does not do him justice.  His color is so unusual and he was born a pale cream (I saw him just days old) and then he darkened to his current unique color.  He is a striking horse and produces awesome foals

14  Palominos –---------48.30%  (out of roan, chestnut, sorrel, black & bay mares)

11   Smoky Black –---  37.90%  (out of black, sorrel, bay & chestnut mares

  1   Perlino ------------ 03.45%  (Out of a buckskin mare)

2   Buckskins  -------  06.90%  (out of chestnut & sorrel mares)

1   Champagne--------03.45%  (out of champagne mare)

29 Foals ------------- 100.00%

I would love to see this horse tested for the agouti to confirm his true color to be either smoky cream or perlino.
